And yeah my parents have the carpeting too, so I hope it to be an easy process. That’s the thing with most cats, they won’t ever go where you try to put them or shove them into, they go to places they discover themselves. Best just to buy/make things for them and leave them to it without forcing them to like it. Just buy something you want them to use, like a cat tree, then spend time trying to use it (just pretend). They will invade it and take it over. cat-less people often enter my house with confusion the first couple times.
