How many Black veterans have been interviewed about what they think. White Americans aren’t the only people who have served this country and i’m tired of Jason Voorhees every move you make every breath you take I’ll be watching you shirt seeing quotes from them berating those who support Kaepernick, as if the rest of us don’t understand what sacrifice for one’s country means. The virtual erasure of black servicemen and women, like those in my own family, from media coverage of this debate is one of the most disrespectful actions i’ve seen and heard regarding this issue.
I know a lot of people who are livid about the Jason Voorhees every move you make every breath you take I’ll be watching you shirt kneeling players. Not all of them are vets and not all vets I know are angry. But I do have a problem with anyone deciding what a litmus test for patriotism should be. Some people think that unabashedly waving the flag is patriotic. Others think that wearing an American flag bikini is patriotic. I think that peaceful protest is also patriotic. No one should be saying this is our flag, behave as we think you should.
